Position Summary:
The Financial Services Representative I (FSR) is responsible for providing counter and telephone service to current and prospective customer-owners; processing financial transactions including daily balancing of cash and transactions; cross-selling credit union products and services and assisting them to utilize these products and services.

Specific Accountabilities:
Provides a high level of customer service by:

• greeting and dealing with members in a professional and friendly manner
• responding to member inquiries on all branch products and services and identifies opportunities to cross-sell or refer sales opportunities to other staff
• maintaining the confidentiality of the member at all times

Responsible for routine counter responsibilities including:

• providing counter services such as: accepting deposits, cashing cheques, processing utility payments, calculating foreign and domestic exchange, certifying cheques, processing loan payments, cheques, money orders etc.
• being responsible for custody, balancing and security of cash and maintaining assigned cash limits and balancing daily transactions
• being well versed in all fraud bulletins and being alert to potential fraudulent activities

Responsible for providing counter services and sales in a professional and personalized manner by:

• proactively promoting the use of products and services by informing members
• actively cross-selling products and services which are appropriate to customer needs
• maintaining a current knowledge of all credit union products and services
• participating with other staff in credit union promotions, special customer / owner and community events and training

Responsible for various branch administrative duties such as:

• filing of all daily reports
• answering telephones as required
• assisting the branch in maintaining an orderly and professional appearance
• assisting with branch administrative tasks as assigned
• contributing to the success of the credit union by accepting other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Hiring Qualifications and Experience:
The Financial Services Representative I will have successfully completed a high school diploma or GED plus have up to one year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
